DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON No.
Tuesday, August 8, 19 U005-09S2
CENTRAL OREGON COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT
PROPOSED BY RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
BUDGET LEVY EXCEEDING SIX PERCENT LIMITATION
I. Shall the District be authorized to exceed the 6 percent limitation by
the sum of$2,077,178 to fund the budget for the District for the fiscal
year 1978-79? Said amount is to be used for operating and mainten-
ance expenses for the College District.
EXPLANATION OF THE BALLOT QUESTION
If this measure is approved, the operating budget to be financed by
local taxes for the tax year 1978-79 will be $247,200 greater than the
operating budget financed by local taxes for the preceding year.
Central Oregon Community College District has no tax base, thus re-
quiring voter approval for a tax levy necessary to finance, along with
state, federal, and other funds, the operation of the College.
The Board calculates that the rate per one thousand dollars of assessed
valuation will be $1.39, the same levy rate approved last year.
