8. Shall the District be authorized to levy a tax of $175,000.00 for the fiscal year
beginning July I, 1976, which levy would be $108,000.00 over the limitations
imposed by the Oregon Constitution. Said amount to enable the District to
operate and to contract for fire protection with the City of Bend for 1976-77 and
to create a sinking fund to establish a second substation in the District.
If this measure is approved, the operating budget to be financed by local taxes
for the tax year 1976-77 will be $34,000.00 greater than the operating budget
financed by local taxes for the current year. If approved, the 1976-77 levy will
result in an estimated maximum rate of $1.17 per thousand dollars of true cash
