Shall the District be authorized to exceed the 60 limiation by the sum of $53,000.00 to fund the
District budget for the fiscal year 1974-1975. Said amount to be used to enable the District
to contract for fire protection with the City of Bend for 1974-1975. The maximum rate is
estimated at $1.20 per thousand dollars of true cash value.
EXPLANATION OF THE BALLOT QUESTION
If this measure is approved, the operating budget to be financed by local taxes for the
1974-1975 will be $20,528.30 greater than the operating budget financed by local taxes for the
1973-1974 tax year. The 1973-1974 levy in the District was $89,471.70 ($36,000.00 over the
tax base) resulting in a tax of $1.12 per thousand dollars of assessed value.

limitations set forth in Section 11 , Article XI of the Oregon
Constitution?
EXPLANATION OF THE BALLOT QUESTION
School District No. 15 has no tax base, therefore all of the local
levy is voted upon each year. The School District Board of Directors
cannot levy a tax for funding of the school district operation without
the approval of the qualified electors of the district.
If this measure is approved, the operational budget to be financed
by local taxes for the year 1974-1975 will be $4,478.46 less than
the preceding year. The maximum rate is estimated at $2 . 12 per

tion set forth in section II, Article XI of the Oregon Constitution?
EXPLANATION OF THE BALLOT QUESTION
The district has no tax base, therefore, any tax to be levied by the school board must be
approved by the voters. The available non-tax revenue is insufficient to provide for an
adequate educational program.
If this measure is approved, the operating budget to be financed by local taxes for the
year 1974-1975 will be $102,675.00 greater than the operating budget financed by local
taxes for the preceding year. The maximum rate is estimated at $15.66 per thousand
dollars of true cash value.
