CENTRAL OREGON
21 COMMUNITY COLLEGE
- 9-73 AUTHORIZE PREVIOUSLY
APPROVED COLLEGE BOND
- PROCEEDS TO BUILD
TRAINING CENTER
- QUESTION: Shall Central Oregon Community
College be authorized to expend $880,000 of
- previously approved bonds to build a job train-
ing center.
SUMMARY: A yes vote allows Central Oregon
- Community College to transfer previously autho-
rized but unexpended library bond proceeds to
finance construction of a college training facility
- on the COCC North Campus in Redmond. This is
a transfer only of$880,000 from bond proceeds
approved by voters in 1994 for construction of
- the COCC library and the remodeling of the pre-
vious library. There will be no new taxes. The
library and related improvements have been
- completed as approved by the voters. The
amount remaining,approximately six percent of
the original total, was due to savings in construc-
tion costs and lower than anticipated costs of
40 - equipment.A no vote will authorize a one-time
reduction of taxes for fiscal year 1999-2000 of
approximately nine cents per$1,000 assessed
41 value.
