This measure may cause property taxes to increase more than 3 percent. SUMMARY:This measure provides funding for transportation improvements, including: (1) maintenance for sidewalks,bike lanes,trails and streets;(2)construction of sidewalks(principally for sidewalk in-fill along arterial and collector streets);(3)acquisition and construction of trails; and(4)expansion of the Dial-a-Ride program to serve the general public. The levy would apply during each of the next five years, beginning in Fiscal Year 2001-2002.This levy will raise an es- timated $1,179,929 in 2001-02; $1,301,774 in 2002-03;$1,417,676 in 2003-04;$1,507,559 in 2004-05;and$1,588,970 in 2005-06 for an es- timated total of $6,995,909 over the five-year period.Each 350 per thousand dollars assessed valuation raised under this levy will be spent for the following transportation improvements: 50 for maintenance of sidewalks, bike lanes, trails and streets; 100 for sidewalk construction,(principally for sidewalk in-fill along arterial and collector streets); 7.50 for trail acquisition and construction;and 12.50 for expansion of the Dial-a-Ride pro- gram to serve the general public.
