Black Butte Ranch Rural Fire Protection District 9-72 Black Butte Ranch FD Five-Year General Operations Local Option Tax Question: Shall the District impose $1.56 per$1000 of assessed value for five years for general operations beginning FY 2010-2011? This measure may cause property taxes to increase more than three percent. Summary: This measure may be passed only at an election with at least a 50 percent voter turnout. A"yes" vote on this measure is a vote to increase taxes. The District needs additional funds to maintain current programs and current levels of operation. This would begin in the fiscal year 2010-2011. The revenues from this operating levy will enable the district to continue 24/7 fire and paramedic service levels. Less than 45.5% of the district costs are covered by the permanent tax rate and other resources. The remaining 54.5% of the needed revenues are covered by this levy. If this levy passes, the existing local option tax for operations ($0.90 per$1000 of assessed value), which has one remaining year, will not be levied. The proposed rate will raise approximately $809,064 in 2010-2011; $825,245 in 2011-2012; 850,002 in 2012-2013; $875,502 in 2013-2014; $901,768 in 2014-2015. The estimated cost for this measure is an ESTIMATE ONLY based on the best information available from the county assessor at the time of the estimate.
