DISCUSSIONS
A. Desert Rise Purchase &Sale Agreement Addendum
Deschutes County Property and Facilities Director Susan Ross reviewed background and terms of the
intergovernmental agreement(IGA) between the City and the County. At the end of the 10-year term of
the IGA, the City is responsible for paying the remaining principal balance and any accrued interest. Due
to the downturn in the economy and because properties in Desert Rise are not selling, the City requested
that the County entertain an amendment to the IGA which would extend the balloon payment until June
31, 2019, with an additional 5-year option.
B. North County Campus Overview
Discussion took place regarding issues surrounding the placement of a north county campus in
Evergreen School and the types of services that would occupy the facility. The City expressed concerns
regarding the placement of Parole and Probation as well as Mental Health in the downtown core and
within a block of two schools.
OTHER BUSINESS
Commissioners Unger and Baney discussed the 9-1-1 local option levy.
There being no further business the workshop was adjourned at 8:01 a.m.
