I. 5-Year Plan David Doyle handed out a document, "Deschutes County Legal Department Performance Management Presentation,"and discussed the Legal Department's 5-Year plan, including full implementation of AMICUS,transition from exclusive specialty practice areas to more general practice,prioritizing training, in-sourcing legal work,reviewing and revising boilerplate documents,anticipating legal trends,the management and protection of personal data, and growth impacts. Laurie Craghead spoke about the past and current issues related to land use,assessment and taxation, clerk, special district, and humane society contracts. Chris Bell discussed updating county policies, training supervisors, civil rights issues, and ADA and accommodation issues. John Laherty spoke about reviewing County contracts, resolving issues related to County liability arising out of actions from the District Attorney's Office,brining workers' compensation claims in-house, and HIPPA. Connie Scorza and Treana Henley informed the Board about their respective job duties and professional backgrounds. Commissioner Baney closed the meeting.
