WHEREAS, Deschutes County intends that its uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage shall be the minimum permitted by Oregon law, now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY,OREGON, as follows: Section 1. Deschutes County maintains a self-insurance program covering liability and property losses, including motor vehicle coverages. Section 2. Deschutes County, through its governing body, elects, pursuant to ORS 742.502,to provide the minimum amount of uninsured/underinsured coverages allowed by ORS 806.070. Accordingly, this represents the most Deschutes County will pay with regard to uninsured/underinsured motorist claims. Section 3. In the event of any change to the minimum coverage limits specified in ORS 806.070, this Resolution shall be interpreted to constitute a subsequent formal election by the governing body of Deschutes County of the amended or otherwise changed minimum uninsured/underinsured motorist coverages permitted under Oregon law. Section 4. Deschutes County does not provide personal injury protection (P.I.P.) benefits, specified under ORS 742.518 et seq. Section 5. Deschutes County resolves that this Resolution shall constitute proof of compliance with the Financial Responsibility Requirement of the State of Oregon. Underinsured motorist coverage insures you the insured, and others covered under the underinsured motorist coverage, for your damages to the extent that your uninsured motorist coverage benefits are greater than the amount recovered from other motor vehicle liability insurance policies.
