Minutes of Board of Commissioners' Business Meeting Wednesday, August 10, 2016 Page 6 of 7 Nick Lelack provided an update regarding Mt. Bachelor Corporation's desire to build more ski lifts. The State Building Code regulates this. If it is interpreted as being a federal project on federal land, it is exempt from local regulations. If it is a lease agreement, they need local permits. They indicated they did not think they needed permits. There were further discussions on this matter, and it was found that local permits had been required previously for the Pine Marten lift. Mt. Bachelor Corporation has a third party inspector in place. It has been determined to be a local interpretive matter. The Department advised Mt. Bachelor's representatives that whatever has to be done by the County would be expedited.
