February 1, 2017
Commissioners' Hearing Room - Administration Building - 1300 NW Wall St., Bend
Present were Commissioners Tammy Baney, Phil Henderson and Anthony DeBone. Also present
were Tom Anderson, County Administrator; Erik Kropp, Deputy County Administrator; David
Doyle, County Counsel; and Sharon Ross, Executive Secretary. One representative of the media
was in attendance.
CALL TO ORDER: Chair Baney called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.

to 4R Equipment, LLC
Timm Schimke, Director of Solid Waste Department was present to ask for consideration of
signature on the Intent to Award Letter for the 2017 Knott Landfill Rock Removal Project.
Four bids were received and 4-R Equipment LLC of Bend submitted the lowest bid.
Mr. Schimke noted Taylor Northwest has been removing rock in the pit for the 27th Street
construction project and they break during 4R Equipment's contract period. There inay also
be a change order submitted to allow additional rock removal for the Road Department.

County Administrator Anderson noted approximately $60,000 is a payment for
Noble 911 Services for hardware installation for the radio system.

County Administrator Anderson noted the payments to Baxter Builders and Kirby Nagelhout
Construction for snow removal during our recent winter weather events. Commissioner
DeBone mentioned meeting with the Deschutes County Facilities Department team and
appreciated their hard work and response to the building roof snow removal. Commissioner

Baney requested an estimated cost of response to the events across all County departments.
Deputy County Administrator Kropp will provide the information.
