SPECIAL MEETING
DESCHUTES COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
September 11, 1998
Acting Chair Robert L. Nipper called the Board of County
Commissioners meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. County Commissioners
present were Robert Nipper and Linda Swearingen. Also in
attendance was Rick Isham, County Counsel; and George Goshert,
Library Project Manager.
1. SIGNATURE OF ORDER NO. 98-135, DESIGNATING A NEWSPAPER FOR THE
PUBLICATION OF THE 1998-99 DESCHUTES COUNTY FORECLOSURE LIST
Before the Board was signature of Order No. 98-135,
designating a newspaper for the publication of the 1998-99
Deschutes County Foreclosure List.
Rick Isham stated it had to be the newspaper of the most major
circulation in our area.
SWEARINGEN: I would move signature of Order No. 98-135.
NIPPER: I'll second that.
VOTE: SCHLANGEN: EXCUSED
NIPPER: YES
SWEARINGEN: YES
CONVENE AS THE GOVERNING BODY OF BEND LIBRARY COUNTY SERVICE
DISTRICT
2. SIGNATURE OF PARKING CONTRACT BETWEEN CITY OF BEND AND BEND
LIBRARY COUNTY SERVICE DISTRICT
Before the Board was signature of a Parking Contract between
City of Bend and Bend Library County Service District.
George Goshert reported this finalizes the agreement with the
City of Bend to provide 26 parking spaces.
SWEARINGEN: I would move signature of the Parking Contract
between the City of Bend and the Bend Library
County Service District.
NIPPER: I'll second that.
VOTE: SCHLANGEN: EXCUSED
NIPPER: YES

3. ROCKY MOUNTAIN BAR-B-OUE LOAN PAYMENT
Before the Board was discussion of Rocky Mountain Bar-B-Que
loan payment.
Rick Isham reported that while he was on vacation, the due
date of the September 1st payment came up. The letter the
Board sent on August 5, 1998, said that he had to make the
payment when it becomes due. He reported the payment was not
made.. Our previous letter stated that if the payment was not
made, we would give them 10 days notice of default which gives
10 additional days to pay.
SWEARINGEN: I move approval of sending a default letter to
Rocky Mountain Bar-B-Que.
NIPPER: Second.

NIPPER: YES
SWEARINGEN: YES
