Amendments to the Agenda Presentation of United Way Study PAGE ONE Chairman Prante read aloud the amendments to the Agenda. Neil Bryant, representative of United Way, stated that approximately two years ago United Way formed a strategic planning committee to determine and develop long-range goals for the Deschutes United Way. Mr. Bryant stated that he met with the Director of the United Way of Pierce County, who attributes their success to their needs assessment survey which determines areas in wich The United Way would want to continue and promote more dollars to or discontinue because the need is not there. Mr. Bryant stated that The Deschutes County United Way feels that with modifications, they can proceed and develop a needs assessment survey and has set aside $5,000.00 to accomplish that goal. Mr.Bryant noted that Christian Service Community of Central Oregon has applied for grants, a portion of which will go to this assessment survey. Mr. Bryant requested that Deschutes County consider contributing $5,000.00, stating that the County would pay that amount only if the United Way is able to proceed and raise the $30,000.00 necessary to complete the project. Chairman Prante stated that the Central Oregon Action Agency Network has recently completed a needs assessment and recommended that Mr. Bryant use information from that agency to reduce the cost of the survey. - MINUTES 2/19/86 DESCHUTES COUNTY OFFICIAL RECORDS ^} 1(0.5 NANCY BLANKENSHIP, COUNTY CLERK CJ V I COMMISSIONERS' JOURNAL 02/23/2017 11:57:52 AM I1111111iuiiiiidiuui Discussion Re- garding Jail Remodel Signature of Con- tract Documents for Purchase of Three Pickups and Two Pickups Possible Authori- zation of a Pro- posal to Retain a Recycling Educa- tion and Promotion Program Coordinator Possible Signature of Memo of Under- standing with the Oregon State Marine Board Possible Signature of Correction Deed from Deschutes County to Herbert McMillan Possible Signature of Ordinance No. 86-014, Establish- ing a Public Land Cornr Preservation Account and Creat- ing a User Fee Chairman Prante noted that the request would be considered.
