A meeting of the Board of County Commissioners was held on May 19, 1986. Commissioners present were Lois Prante, Dick Maudlin and Larry Tuttle. Also present were Rick Isham, County Counsel; and other staff. Items for the next regular Board business meeting. Transportation plan presentation. Denise (?) said there was a lengthy hearing with the Planning Commission, with two major issues. One is the McGrath Road extension; the other is the road the County is to build from Highway 20 to Mt. Bachelor. This was not part of the proposal but was a rumor that got started out there somewhere. Nothing else has really changed. There was a contingent of people from the Sisters area who did not participate at the local level in Sisters. This has been going on for some time but this group wants things reviewed again. The map was revised and is now ready to go. Appropriation orders for 9-1-1 and Mental Health. Federal aid project request for the Little Deschutes River Bridge Drive (Lazy River South). Neil (?) explained that this is the application form that is required so this project can be constructed next spring. This includes the 20% contribution from the County for the highway bridge program, and is already budgeted. Termination documents with the Department of Agriculture on an easement road. Federal aid project request for Sunrise Boulevard and the Deschutes River (Burgess Road). This gets the project started, west of Wickiup Junction and Highway 97. OLCC license for Mt. Bachelor. Three requests for refunds. Bend Cascade View Estates Tract 2 Special Road District. There are some that front on Bear Creek Road, so those have been deleted and the boundary has been Permit for a 10-K run on East lake/Pauling Lake Road. Murphy Road issues. Dale Korisch is filing for a new subdivision. The real estate agreement includes a clause about the County constructing the road, but this changes the ownership on those properties fronting the road. He expects to have full improvements since he gave the County the right of way. (There was a long discussion about the County's obligations.) This will be discussed further in a week with Dave Hornung, who negotiated the agreements. Mr. Isham indicated that Neil Hudson was allowed to negotiate for the Board after he came before the Board over a year ago. (There was lengthy discussion about whether and when the road would extend all the way to 27th Street.)
