DESCHUTES COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Audio Cassette Recording Titled: WORK SESSION
November 9, 1987; 10:00-10:45 AM.
A meeting of the Board of County Commissioners was held on November 9, 1987.
Commissioners present were Lois Prante, Dick Maudlin and Tom Throop. Also
present were Rick Isham, County Counsel; County Administrator Mike Maier; and
other staff.
Items discussed at this meeting may be on a future Board business meeting
agenda:
Sunriver Chamber of Commerce parade permit request on November 28, within
Sunriver and onto Century Drive.
Appointment to Riverbend Estates Special Road District.
Personal services contract with B&B Crane Company for brush cutting along the
road, primarily on South Century Drive. This brush is a concern for concealing
deer and the fact that the sun can't melt off the snow in the shadows. The cost is
about the same as if the County did it, and the crane company can do it faster.

Award of a tractor truck contract from bids, for chip sealing and sanding.
Burgess Road personal services contract to David Evans and Associates for design
services. The project is budgeted for this year and has to be done per state and
federal requirements. (There was a lengthy discussion about the project.) The
project will cost up to $900,000 because it needs to be built to withstand fairly
high use.
Declaration of dedication of properties, Order 87-025.
Refunding taxes.
Appropriations transfer to Mental Health.
Resolution amending the permit process to approve small additions such as
garages or small additions to houses, and reduce the fee. They currently charge
$25 to look at the appropriate file, and see how it fits on the original plot plan.
They could reduce the fee by $10 if the file is available.
Regarding Day Road off La Pine Rec Road, all the grading is done and the project is
proceeding well, since there is no snow to deal with yet. The 5th Street, Redmond,
at the new industrial development, should be going to bid this winter.
I certify that the above is a true and accurate record of a meeting, as reproduced from a
cassette tape identified as Minutes of a Meeting of the Deschutes County Board of
Commissioners, held on November 9, 1987. This record was completed subsequent to the
presiding Deschutes County Board of Commissioners' tenure.
