DESCHUTES COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Audio Cassette Recording Titled: WORK SESSION
February 1, 1988; 10:00-10:30 AM.
A meeting of the Board of County Commissioners was held on February 1, 1988.
Commissioners present were Lois Prante, Dick Maudlin and Tom Throop. Also in
attendance were Rick lsham, County Counsel; County Administrator Mike Maier;
and other staff.
Items discussed at this meeting may be on a future Board business meeting
agenda:
Agreement between the Deschutes National Forest and the Sheriff's Office for
patrol services.
Discussion of an Oregon Department of Energy grant for energy audits of the
Courthouse, the Justice Building and the Juvenile Annex.
Signature of an Order refunding taxes.
STF contract with Trans -Central, per the recommendation of the STF Committee.
This will provide transportation for the former Dynatron clients, in Redmond.

Discussion of Ben Bryant's major land partition. Mr. lsham explained that all of
the easements have been signed by everyone except one person, who is out of
town. The area is off Silvis Road. (There was a long discussion about the map,
and the easements and their purpose.)
Development agreement with Wells, Wells and Ripp for a site plan, off Division
Street and Arthur Avenue, behind the Burger King. This will accommodate
construction of the new McDonald's.
Request from the La Pine Special Sewer District to waive the recording fees on the
easements filed on behalf of the District. There are a couple of dozen and the
cost would be around $2,000. The permit fees were already waived. Every
property to be served with have an easement to be recorded. Mr. Maudlin will
find out exactly how many properties and the cost, and report back.
Discussion of the Trial Administrator's letter regarding a juvenile referee. Mr.
Mazorol said this will be discussed at lunch later this week, in the office.
Mr. Maier indicated that the Shevlin Fish Hatchery will be requesting a fee waiver
for some work to occur there.
Discussion of an Ordinance to update the Library's by-laws.
