PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE?: No BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS: The Sheriff's Office has used online services since January, 2008 to sell surplus property, such as vehicles. Deschutes County Code 2.37.110 enables the Sheriffs Office to quickly auction surplus property through online auction that would otherwise depreciate in value and be exposed to the elements as they sit idle. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: The Sheriff's Office pays no fee for online public auction services. In an average year, the Sheriff's Office will make several thousand dollars dollars from the sale of surplus vehicles. ATTENDANCE: Lisa Griggs, Civil Division, if requested.
