A meeting of the Board of County Commissioners was held on July 22, 1991.
Commissioners present were Nancy Pope Schlangen, Tom Troop and Dick
Maudlin. Also in attendance were Rick Isham, County Counsel; County
Administrator Mike Maier; and other staff and a few citizens.
Items discussed at this meeting may be on a future Board business meeting
agenda:
Discussion and update on the Rosie Baries Community Campus. Fundraising has
reached $100,000, and they have strong applications for an additional $65,000 in
grants. They keep getting donations from the community.
They are at full occupancy at this point. They have fourteen programs housed
there. There was a lengthy discussion on how to divide up the space between the
different users.

Discussion of the Children and Youth Services' Commission and approval of the
comprehensive plan. Per the State, the Board needs to approve implementation
of this plan.
Discussion of a supplemental agreement with the Oregon State Highway
Department and the City of Redmond concerning improvements to the Redmond -
Bend north unit section of Highway 97. This involves the addition of sewer and
water facilities in the Yew Avenue interchange. The County just needs to sign off.
Discussion of Order 91-093, vacating a portion of Gerking Market Road, to
improve the intersection.
Public hearing and vacation of a portion C.B. Swalley Road, in the Twin Bridges
area.
Discussion of Ordinance 91-017, regulating occupancy of short-term rentals in the
planned communities of Sunriver.
Discussion of approval of the contract with CSD to provide detention services.
Discussion of an indemnity agreement with Eastmont Church for the Eagles Chuck
Austin Memorial Run.
Discussion of a road name changes, of Edmonton Drive to Quebec Drive; and
Read Road to Read Loop.
Discussion of a road dedication.
Discussion of a minor partition to create three parcels in an RR -10 zone off
Billadeau Road.
Discussion of liquor license renewals.
Discussion of a memo from the Courts regarding recycling in the Courthouse and
the smoking policy.

Discussion of a letter regarding unsightly and hazardous solid waste situations in
the Sunriver area. This will be passed on to CDD.
Discussion of administrative payments and arrangements with Community
Development.
Discussion of Code Enforcement mental commitments to be transferred to the
District Attorney's Office, on a temporary basis.
Discussion of a letter from someone who felt he was unjustly discharged from the
Road Department. Mr. Isham explained that if requested, the Board is obligated
to hear this appeal.
Discussion of Terrebonne Veteran's Celebration details.
Discussion of appointments to Landmarks Commission positions.
