Discussion of approval of an intergovernmental agreement with the City of
Redmond for limited engineering services for about the next six months. Both the
City and the County will share the services of a likeable young engineer, George
Kolb. The County would like to hire him full-time if possible. The City has to
decide whether they will need a full-time engineer.

Discussion of establishing a policy for unencumbered or undocumented
structures. This has to do with the Central Oregon Builders' Association.
Discussion of the recruitment process for the new Community Development
Director position. Mike Maier explained that they have sent out over 150
applications. He hopes they can screen the applications and begin the selection
process in earnest after the first of the year. He will develop some additional
questions for the response of applicants.
The Board will come up with names of people to be on panels for the interview
process.

Discussion of the annual reminder to employees to take their vacation time by the
end of January, or lose it. Several departments have asked for exceptions to this
policy, but he does not encourage allowing this. There should be plenty of time to
plan, and this is no surprise.
