A meeting of the Board of County Commissioners was held on October 4, 1993.
Commissioners present were Tom Troop and Barry Slaughter. Commissioner
Nancy Schlangen was out of the office. Also in attendance were Rick [sham,
County Counsel; County Administrator Mike Maier; the media, other staff and a
few citizens.
Items discussed at this meeting may be on a future Board business meeting
agenda:
Discussion of the acceptance of three warranty deeds for right of way acquisition
on Butler Market Road. These are the final deeds to allow for improvement of
the road.
Discussion of a personal services contract with David Evans and Associates for
Solid Waste well testing and monitoring at the southwest transfer site.

Discussion of a Resolution to establish a no -parking zone on a portion of O.B. Riley
Road between the City limits and the Old Bend -Redmond Highway. This will allow
the portion of the road that is set aside for bicycles to be used in that manner.
Discussion of Gate Permit #93-004 on Jordan Road by the Lazy Z Ranch.
Discussion of a request for out of state travel for employees to attend the
American Public Health Association meeting in San Francisco. They are asking for
funds for registration, and will individually cover the cost of transportation,
lodging and meals.
Discussion of signature of Order 93-205, to correct clerical and editorial errors in
Title 18. There are five errors relating to the numbering of subsections.
Discussion of signature of a workers compensation contract addendum, making a
change in billing fees. This should reduce the annual total expense.
Discussion of signature of a conservation easement for the Davidsons for property
adjacent to the Deschutes River on Beaver Drive, south of Sunriver.
Discussion of signature of Resolution 93-102, requesting funding for any future
federal mandates. This is due to a request by AOC.
Discussion of signature of a Resolution proclaiming October as Disability
Employment Awareness Month.
Discussion of signature of Order 93-204, assigning the name of Beale Drive to an
unnamed road off Eagle Road.
Discussion of signature a liquor license renewal application for Hook, Wine and
Cheddar in Sunriver.
Discussion of approval of property insurance renewal with Chubb Insurance
Group for buildings and facilities. Mike Viegas of Risk Management said that the
deductible would be raised due to a high number of claims in the recent past. The
company would also add earthquake coverage. (There was a very lengthy
discussion about insurance issues at this time.) Mr. Viegas would like to see
about instituting charge -backs to departments to cover some of the claims.

Discussion of signature of a Mylar for a minor partition, MP -92-46, for two
parcels.
Discussion of approval and signature for Phase II -G for Broken Top, for twenty-
nine lots.
