A meeting of the Board of County Commissioners was held on October 19, 1998. Commissioners present were Bob Nipper and Linda Swearingen. Commissioner Nancy Pope Schlangen was out of the office. Also in attendance were Bruce White, Assistant County Counsel; County Administrator Mike Maier; and a few staff. This meeting was called because it is the last day to call up a land use issue due to a deadline. Therefore, it was called as an emergency meeting to consider Orders 98-157 and 98-158. Consideration of signature of Order 98-157, calling up the Craig non-farm dwelling decision de novo. Since the Board is calling these up, it is not necessary for the applicants to file an appeal. Commissioner Nipper seconded, and the motion was unanimously approved. Commissioner Swearingen moved approval of Order 98-158, calling up the Scott non-farm dwelling decision, to be heard de novo. Commissioner Nipper seconded, and the motion was unanimously approved. Bruce White indicated that they are also hearing the application for minor partition for each as a part of these actions. It was also noted that one of the people appealing is Bill Kuhn. A specific date of November 9, 1998 was established for these de novo land use hearings. 1 certify that the above is a true and accurate record of a meeting, as reproduced from a cassette tape identified as Minutes of a Meeting of the Deschutes County Board of Commissioners, held on October 19, 1998.
