DESCHUTES COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

A meeting of the Board of County Commissioners was held on August 2, 1999.
Commissioners present were Dennis Luke, Linda Swearingen and Tom DeWolf.
Also in attendance were Rick Isham, County Counsel; County Administrator Mike
Maier; the media, other staff and a large number of interested citizens.
Items discussed at this meeting may be on a future Board business meeting
agenda.
Discussion of approval of the award of a bid for an unused, twenty-five ton, three
axle tilt deck trailer to the lowest qualified bidder. The low bidder turned in
incomplete information and is considered non-responsive.
Commissioner Luke moved to disqualify the lowest bidder and approve the lowest
responsive bidder; Commissioner Swearingen seconded; it was passed
unanimously.

Discussion of approval of Order 99-127, accepting the road improvements and
engineer's report and setting a hearing for the final assessment for the
improvement of Limestone local improvement district. This will add to the paving
done on the south side of Whispering Pines subdivision.
Discussion of approving a waiver of the County's auto insurance limits due to
House Bill 3737, for a contract with the University of Oregon. This is for
evaluation of the Community Youth Investment Project. County Counsel and Risk
Management are supportive.
Discussion of approval of Order 99-104, ordering the exchange of easements
between Deschutes County and Ronald Dyke (?).
Discussion of authorizing the sale of ten -acre parcels regarding Mike Williams to
benefit the Becky Johnson Community Campus. There is no access to this
property, and the adjacent land is owned by Mr. Williams.
Discussion of approval of a lease of property on Cinder Butte for the placement of
an antenna.
Discussion of approval of liquor license applications for Eagle Mart and Chen's
Garden.
