BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON
A Resolution Appropriating New Grant Funds
in the Deschutes County 2018-2019 Budget

RESOLUTION NO. 2018-039
WHEREAS, Deschutes County's Health Services Fund will receive new grant revenue totaling
$330,000; and
WHEREAS, these new grant funds need to be appropriated; and
WHEREAS, ORS 294.326(2) allows the appropriation and expenditures of new grant funds
designated to specific purposes; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. That the following grant be budgeted:
Revenue
Health Services Fund
Federal Grant
$ 330,000
TOTAL REVENUE: $ 330,000
Section 2. That the following appropriations be made within the 2018-2019 County Budget:

A supplemental budget is required for the following reason and will be used for the following purpose:
This is a five-year grant from SAMHSA for the Co-Reponder PRogram at $330,000 per year. The Deschutes County Co -Responder Program is a law
enforcement and behavioral health partnership between Deschutes County Health Services and the Bend Police Department. A Crisis Intervention Team (CIT)
trained police officer and behavioral health professional will work shifts together to divert adults with serious mental illness (SMI) or a co-occurring disorder
(COD) from the criminal justice system prior to arrest and booking.

Health Service has been awarded a five year grant from SAMHSA for the Co -Responder

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:The grant provides $330,000 for year one and is a five year grant.
The grant will fund 3.20 FTE.
