BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON
A Resolution extending Limited Duration Positions
within the 2019-20 Deschutes County Budget * RESOLUTION NO. 2020-012
WHEREAS, a request to extend 1.00 FTE limited -duration Victims' Advocate position from 10/1/2019-
6/30/2020, and related appropriation for the remainder of the 2019-2020 budget. And,
WHEREAS, Deschutes County Classification of Positions Policy (HR-1) requires that the
creation/increase of a Department's FTE outside of the adopted budget must be approved by the Board
of Commissioners; and
WHEREAS it is necessary to transfer appropriation within the Program Budget to accommodate the
request; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:

Consideration of Board Signature of Resolution No. 2020-012 to Extend Limited Duration
Position in Victims Assitance Program
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
Staff recommends the Board approve the extension of the limited duration position in
Victim's Assistance Program.
BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
In January the Board approved acceptance of VOCA grant funds for the Victim's Assistance
Program. Victim's Assistance needs formal approval to extend the limited duration position tied
to this grant funding. The limited duration term for this position has expired.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: The position was budgeted in the FY20 budget so there is no
additional fiscal impact.
