AGENDA REQUEST & STAFF REPORT
For Board of Commissioners BOCC Wednesday Meeting of November 25, 2020
DATE: November 18, 2020
FROM: Dan Emerson, Finance,
TITLE OF AGENDA ITEM:
Consideration of Board Signature of Resolution No. 2020-071, Reclassifying a Peer
Support Specialist to a Behavioral Health Technician and Extending the Position from
6/30/2021 to 6/30/2022
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval of Resolution 2020-071 reclassifying an FTE and extending the position.
BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
The Board of County Commissioners verbally approved the reclassification of a Deschutes
County Health Services Peer Support Specialist to a Behavioral Health Technician in support
of the Deschutes County Stabilization Center on November 4th, 2020. Furthermore the Board
of County Commissioners also verbally approved the extension of this position from 613012021
to 6/30/2022 on November 4th, 2020.
This resolution completes the reclassification and extension process.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: The increased cost would be covered by COHC and IMPACTS
grant funds. The position is limited duration and would begin on the date of hire and end June
30, 2022. COHC funds would cover the cost of the position until June 30, 2021, and IMPACTS
funds would cover the cost of the position from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022. No additional
funding will be required to support this increase in costs due to vacancy savings in FY 2021.
Both the COHC and IMPACTS grant will absorb this additional cost in their existing budgets.
ATTENDANCE: Dan Emerson, Budget Manager
