BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY,
OREGON
A Resolution Increasing
FTE within the 2021-2022 * RESOLUTION NO. 2022-002
Deschutes County Budget
WHEREAS, the Deschutes County Clerk's Office presented to the Board of County
Commissioners on 1/24/22, with regards to adding 1.0 FTE in support of Elections, and backfilling
a current FTE for approximately six (6) months in preparation for an upcoming retirement as part
of succession planning, and
WHEREAS, Deschutes County Policy HR-1 requires that creation of or increase in FTE
outside the adopted budget be approved by the Board of County Commissioners; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:

SUBIECT: Consideration of Resolution No. 2022-002 Increasing 1.0 Regular FTE within the
Clerk's Office and the 2021-2022 Deschutes County Budget and backfilling a

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move Approval of Resolution No. 2022-0021ncreasing 1.0 Regular FTE within the
Clerk's Office and the 2021-2022 Deschutes County Budget and backfilling a current
FTE for approximately six (6) months.
BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
On 1 /24/2022 the BOCC considered a request from the Deschutes County Clerk's Office to
increase 1.0 regular FTE in support of the Elections and to backfill a current FTE for
approximately six (6) months in preparation for an upcoming retirement as part of
succession planning.
BUDGET IMPACTS:
The new and backfill position are funded by current -year budgetary savings in the Clerk's
Office.
