Deschutes County Budget
WHEREAS, the Deschutes County Behavioral Health department presented to the Board
of County Commissioners on 4/13/2022, with regards to the addition of 1.0 regular FTE
Behavioral Health Specialist I, in support of the Mobile Crisis Assessment Team, and
WHEREAS, Deschutes County Policy HR-1 requires that the creation of or increase in
FTE outside the adopted budget be approved by the Board of County Commissioners; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move Approval of Resolution No. 2022-025 to add 1.0 regular FTE Behavioral Health Specialist I
BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
On April 13, 2022, Deschutes County Behavioral Health department discussed with the
Board the addition of a 1.0 regular FTE Behavioral Health Specialist I, supporting the Mobile
Crisis Assessment Team to respond to certain calls, in pairs of two, without law
enforcement.
BUDGET IMPACTS:
The Intergovernmental Agreement #173133 with Oregon Health Authority (OHA),
amendment #3 provides $363,064 in funding for start-up activities related to Mobile Crisis,
including the addition of this requested position. The funding is planned to support this
position for at least the current and following fiscal year.
