FTE Within the 2022-23 * RESOLUTION NO. 2022-051
Deschutes County Budget
WHEREAS, the Deschutes County Solid Waste department presented to the Board of
County Commissioners on 7/6/2022, with regards to the addition of 2.0 regular FTE Landfill Site
Attendant positions, and
WHEREAS, Deschutes County Policy HR-1 requires that the creation of or increase in
FTE outside the adopted budget be approved by the Board of County Commissioners; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. That the following FTE be added:

Attendant Positions
• 'RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move approval:of Resolution No..2022-051 to add 2.0 regular FTE Landfill Site Attendant
positions.
BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS::
On July 6, 2022, the Deschutes County Solid Waste department discussed with the Board the
addition of 2.0 regular FTE Landfill Site-Attendant positions.. These positions will support the
schedule expansion at the Southwest Transfer Station and reduce the need for contract labor at
Knott Landfill Operations.
BUDGET IMPACTS:
The estimated cost for the Solid:Waste Fund 610 is$83,364 per position,for a total of$166,728
for.FY23. The 2.0 FTE will be funded by a reduction in contract services in Materials and Services,
and anticipated vacancy savings in Personnel.
