BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS: On September 10, 2025, the District Attorney's Office received authorization from the Board of County Commissioners to apply for the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant, which funds 2.00 Limited Duration FTE in Victim's Assistance. Resolution No. 2025-040 would extend the following limited duration positions within the DA's office through September 30, 2026: • Position 1981 - 1.00 Victim's Advocate FTE • Position 2153 - 1.00 Victim's Advocate FTE The DA's office anticipates this grant will be formally awarded before September 30, 2025. If the grant is not awarded, these positions will be extended for up to three months or no later than December 31, 2025. BUDGET IMPACTS: Grant funds and personnel services appropriations are included in the FY 2026 adopted budget. No budget adjustment is necessary.
