WHEREAS, the Oregon counties of Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson have
determined there is a need for additional safe, decent and sanitary housing for
persons and families of lower incomes; and
WHEREAS, the Oregon counties of Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson have
also determined that the most expeditious method of addressing this housing need
is for the formation of a three -county, regional housing authority; and
WHEREAS, there currently exists a regional housing authority composed of
Deschutes and Jefferson Counties, and that the housing authority is governed by an
existing, experienced commission appointed by these two county governments; and
WHEREAS, ORS 456.095 requires that there be a board of nine (9) housing
authority commissioners, including one (1) authority program tenant; and
WHEREAS, the counties wish to preserve this experience and leadership
potential on the new housing authority board; then
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that
1. By mutual passage of this Resolution, the Oregon counties of Crook, Deschutes
and Jefferson do hereby form a regional housing authority pursuant to the
authority granted them in ORS 456.085 and
