WHEREAS, the Board of County Commission tOW9tt�Kthe
authority to impose limits as to any gross h EBF, vehicle or
combination of vehicles that, in their judgment, are necessary to
protect roadways under their jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, have been advised
of the Director of Public Works' recommendations as to the gross
weight limits to be placed on a certain roadway under their
jurisdiction known as Reed Market Road; and
WHEREAS, it appearing necessary that for the protection of this
road from being unduly damaged, and to protect the interests and safety
of the general public, that said road should have the gross weight
limit as recommended by the Director of Public Works imposed; and
WHEREAS, large trucks are having difficulty accessing their
repair garages west of Ninth Street and obeying the weight restriction;
and
WHEREAS, the elimination of the weight limit on the section from
Highway 97 to Ninth Street would not permit these loads to continue on
through to 27th Street; Now, therefore,
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON,
ORDERS as follows:
Section 2, That the gross weight limit of twenty-five (25) ton,
as recommended by the Director of Public Works, be continued on Reed
Market Road from Ninth Street to 27th Street.
section 2, That the weight limit be removed on Reed Market Road
from Highway 97 to Ninth Street.
Section 3,,. That the Director of Public Works post forthwith
signs giving notice of the gross weight limitation contained in this
Order in conspicuous places and at reasonable intervals along said
roadway.
