MONUMENT NOT SEARCHED FOR DUE TO NO GRINDING OF ASPHALT IN THE ADJACENT AREA, ASPHALT OVERLAY PERFORMED IS THESE AREAS BLOCK NUMBER NARRATIVE THE PURPOSE OF THIS SURVEY, PERFORMED AT THE REQUEST OF THE CITY OF BEND, IS TO PRESERVE AND PERPETUATE THE LOCATIONS OF EXISTING MONUMENTS DURING STREET REPAVING IN ACCORDANCE WITH ORS 209.155. UPON CONSULTATION WITH THE _ DESCHUTES COUNTY SURVEYOR, IT WAS DECIDED THAT WHEN WE RECOVERED MONUMENTS BEFORE THE GRIND INLAY/OVERLAY, THAT WE WOULD HAMMER DOWN THE MONUMENTS A FEW TENTHS OF A FOOT INTO THE PAVEMENT, SO THE MONUMENTS WOULD NOT BE DISTURBED DURING THE REPAVING. AFTER PAVING WAS COMPLETED, S&F VERIFIED THE MONUMENT POSITIONS BY STAKING OUT EACH MONUMENT AND SEARCHING WITH A METAL DETECTOR, NOTING THE CUT IN ELEVATION FROM THE ORIGINAL MEASUREMENT. FOUND CENTERLINE MONUMENTS ARE BURIED UNDER A LIFT OF NEW ASPHALT. WE RESEARCHED ALL OF THE SURVEYS OF RECORD WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THIS PROJECT TO DETERMINE WHERE RECORD MONUMENTS FELL WITHIN THE EXISTING PAVEMENT. MONUMENTS WERE VISITED IN APRIL 2020, AND ROAD REPAVING WAS COMPLETED MAY 2020. NO CERTIFICATION IS BEING MADE AS TO THE POSITION OF THESE MONUMENTS RELATIVE TO ANY RECORD PROPERTY LINES OTHER THAN THE LOCATION AT WHICH THEY WERE FOUND AND TIED OR REPLACED. THE PLATS AND ROADS SHOWN WERE NOT RETRACED, AND THE CENTERLINES AND STATIONING SHOWN ARE FOR SHOWING THE RELATIONSHIP OF MONUMENTS TO EACH OTHER, AND ARE NOT TO BE CONSIDERED DEFINITIVE RETRACEMENTS OF THOSE PLATS AND ROADS. THIS SURVEY IS ONE OF A NUMBER OF SIMILAR SURVEYS COMPLETED BY S&F CONCURRENTLY FOR ROAD REPAVING PROJECTS ACROSS THE CITY OF BEND. BASIS OF BEARINGS/HORIZONTAL DATUM: BEARINGS AND COORDINATES ARE BASED ON THE CENTRAL OREGON COORDINATE SYSTEM (COCS), PUBLISHED BY THE DESCHUTES COUNTY SURVEYOR. HORIZONTAL DATUM IS NAD83(91), WHICH WAS OBTAINED THROUGH A MOLODENSKY TRANSFORMATION OF NAD83(2011) CPS OBSERVATIONS FROM THE ORGN BASE STATION 'BNDM'. COORDINATES OBTAINED FROM THE COCS ARE GROUND COORDINATES, AND DISTANCES ARE INTERNATIONAL FEET.
