CONTROL, RETRACEMENT, AND MONUMENT RECOVERY SURVEY
SIMPSON AVENUE
LOCATED IN THE SOUTH ONE-HALF OF THE NORTH ONE-HALF (S1/2 N1/2) OF SECTION 6,
TOWNSHIP 18 SOUTH, RANGE 12 EAST OF THE WILLAMETTE MERIDIAN,
CITY OF BEND, DESCHUTES COUNTY, STATE OF OREGON
JAN UARY 2021
THE PURPOSE OF THIS SURVEY IS TO ESTABLISH A CONTROL NETWORK, RESOLVE THE CENTERLINE OF SIMPSON AVENUE, AND PERPETUATE EXISTING MONUMENTS
THAT MAY BE DESTROYED DURING CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALK AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS ALONG THE SOUTHERLY RIGHT OF WAY OF SIMPSON AVENUE PER CITY
OF BEND PROJECT NUMBER PP-20-1905-INFR AND AS REQUIRED BY ORS 209.155.
PRIMARY CONTROL WAS ESTABLISHED BY REAL-TIME KINEMATIC (RTK) GPS UTILIZING CORRECTIONS FROM THE OREGON REAL-TIME GNSS NETWORK (ORGN)
PROJECTED TO THE CENTRAL OREGON COORDINATE SYSTEM (COCS), DESCHUTES13 TRANSFORMATION. TWO OBSERVATIONS WERE MADE SEPARATED BY A MINIMUM
OF 4 HOURS BETWEEN OBSERVATIONS. ADDITIONAL SECONDARY CONTROL WAS ESTABLISHED THROUGH CONVENTIONAL TRAVERSING BETWEEN PRIMARY CONTROL.
THE BASIS OF BEARINGS IS SOUTH 73026'35" WEST (COCS) BETWEEN FOUND MONUMENTS 201 AND 202 ALONG THE SOUTHERLY RIGHT OF WAY OF SIMPSON AVENUE.
THE CENTERLINE OF SIMPSON AVENUE (80 FEET WIDE), BETWEEN STATION 30+00 THRU 58+38.79 PT, AS DESCRIBED IN DECLARATION OF DEDICATION RECORDED MAY 5,
1982 IN VOLUME 356, PAGE 727 DESCHUTES COUNTY DEED RECORDS (R7) WAS ESTABLISHED BY HOLDING THE RECORD (R7) CENTERLINE BETWEEN THE FOUND NORTH
ONE -SIXTEENTH CORNER (POINT 200) COMMON TO SECTION 1, TOWNSHIP 18 SOUTH, RANGE 11 EAST AND SECTION 6 TOWNSHIP 18 SOUTH, RANGE 12 EAST, AND THE
FOUND MONUMENT (POINT 217) ON THE SOUTHERLY RIGHT OF WAY AT STATION 58+38.79 P.T. THE CENTERLINE OF SIMPSON AVENUE (30 FEET FROM CENTERLINE)
EAST OF STATION 58+38.79 P.T. WAS ESTABLISHED BY HOLDING A LINE PARALLEL WITH AND 30 FEET NORTHERLY BETWEEN THE FOUND MONUMENTS (POINTS 218 AND
219) ALONG THE SOUTHERLY RIGHT OF WAY OF SIMPSON AVENUE. ADDITIONAL MONUMENTS ALONG THE NORTHERLY AND SOUTHERLY RIGHT OF WAY WERE
RECOVERED AND FIT WELL WITH THIS RESOLUTION.

ALONG THE NORTH SIDE OF SIMPSON AVENUE, COUNTY SURVEY NO.3743 (R1) NOTES TWO AREAS "O & O" OBTAINED FOR RIGHT OF WAY. AREA "O" WAS ( )R8 BARGAIN AND SALE DEED CONVEYED TO DESCHUTES COUNTY, RECORDED FEBRUARY 15,
CONVEYED TO DESCHUTES COUNTY IN (R8). AT THE TIME (R1) WAS PREPARED, AREA " 2O" WAS OWNED BY DESCHUTES COUNTY PER (R9) . A SEARCH THROUGH 1983 IN VOLUME 5, PAGE 173, DESCHUTES COUNTY OFFICIAL RECORDS.
