MONUMENTS WERE FOUND AT ALL CORNERS OF SAID TRACT. THE - CENTER -WEST 1116TH CORNER ("G") AND THE CENTER 1/4 CORNER ("H") WERE SET BY FRED AST, PLS 1938 AS RECORDED IN CS#'s 12021 AND 12061, RESPECTIVELY. THE CENTER -NORTH CORNER ("E") AND THE NORTHWEST 1116TH CORNER ("D") WERE SET BY EDGAR GRAVES, PLS 980 AS RECORDED IN CS #00062. TO VERIFY THESE CORNERS, THIS SURVEY BRANCHED OUT AND LOCATED THE NORTH, EAST, SOUTH, AND WEST 1/4 CORNERS OF SECTION 24 AS WELL AS THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SECTION 24 AND THE WEST 1/16TH CORNER BETWEEN SECTIONS 24 AND 13. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE CENTER 114 CORNER, ALL INTERIOR MONUMENTS FOUND WERE IN GOOD CONDITION AND WERE ACCEPTED AND HELD DUE TO THEIR POSITIONAL ACCURACY WITH RESPECT TO SURVEYS OF RECORD AND LONG-STANDING RELIANCE UPON THEM BY OTHER SURVEYS IN THE AREA. THE CENTER QUARTER CORNER WAS FOUND TO BE IN ERROR BY 0.55'. SEVERAL FACTORS INDICATED THAT THIS MONUMENT HAD BEEN DISTURBED. FIRST, IT WAS NOTED THAT DISTANCES BETWEEN MONUMENTS BRACKETING THE CENTER 114 ON EITHER SIDE MATCHED RECORD DISTANCES VERY WELL. ALSO, A FENCE HAS BEEN ERECTED IMMEDIATELY ADJACENT TO THE C 114 CORNER, AND UPON CLOSE INSPECTION IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE REBAR HAD BEEN BENT AND ITS BASE WAS EMBEDDED IN THE CONCRETE FOOTER OF A FENCE POST. THEREFORE, I RELOCATED THE CORNER BY SETTING IT AT THE LOCATION OF A DISTANCE -DISTANCE INTERSECTION FROM ADJACENT, UNDISTURBED PROPERTY MONUMENTS TO THE WEST AND SOUTH. THIS POSITION BEST REFLECTS THE MONUMENT'S CORRECT LOCATION BY BEING CONSISTENT WITH THE MOST CURRENT PLATS AND SURVEYS PERFORMED IN THE AREA. MONUMENTS AT THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE FOREST SERVICE TRACT WERE UPGRADED TO MEET FOREST SERVICE STANDARDS BY PLACING A 2.5" ALUMINUM PIPE WITH A 3.25" ALUMINUM CAP AT EACH OF THE CORNER POSITIONS. THE ORIGINAL MONUMENT FOR EACH CORNER IS LOCATED INSIDE THE ALUMINUM PIPES. NOTES 1) BASIS OF BEARINGS: STATE PLANE COORDINATES NAD83(2011), OREGON SOUTH ZONE, AS DETERMINED BY STATIC OBSERVATIONS AT CONTROL POINTS SELECTED FOR OPTIMUM SATELLITE VISIBILITY USING A JAVAD GNSS RECEIVER, PROCESSED BY THE NOAA/ NGS'S ONLINE POSITIONING USER SERVICE (OPUS). 2) SURVEYED MARCH 2O22. 3) MEASURED DISTANCES SHOWN ARE HORIZONTAL GROUND DISTANCES IN INTERNATIONAL FEET. COMBINED SCALE FACTOR: 0.99995880 AT THE CENTER 1/4 CORNER OF SECTION 24. (4) CS #00056 RECORDS THE LINE FROM THE CENTER 114 CORNER OF SECTION 24 TO THE WEST 114 CORNER OF SECTION 24 AS 2664.0 FEET. HOWEVER, THE SUM OF THE INDIVIDUAL PARTS OF SAID LINE PER CS #00056 IS 2662.98 FEET. REFERENCE MATERIAL (1) GLO SURVEY OF THE SUBDIVISION OF T.14S, R.10E, WM BY J. MCCLUNG UNDER CONTRACT NO. 138.
