To gain access to his property north of Bend, William Bowen instructed Maurice Olson—a local
contractor—to build a bridge inspired by Lane County’s Goodpasture Bridge. The bridge was completed
in 1963 for about $4,500.
Maintenance cost for the bridge is paid by landowners who use the bridge for access to their property.
