HomeMy WebLinkAboutLaidlaw Bank TrustThe Laidlaw Bank and Trust, now known as the Tumalo IrrigaƟon District building, was
erected in 1910. The town was laid out by W.A. Laidlaw in 1904 as a proposed terminus of the
Corvallis and Eastern Railroad. Laidlaw also envisioned the site would grow because of water
resources and irrigaƟon in the area. However, the irrigaƟon project failed in 1914, the Oregon
Trunk Railroad did not build to the site and the Corvallis and Eastern failed to build through
the Cascade Range.
