Explanatory Statement Why consider forming a new 9-1-1 emergency communications district? The existing 9-1-1 district has a permanent property tax rate limit of .1618. State law does not permit the district to seek approval of a new permanent rate limit.Therefore,the district relies primarily on a temporary five-year local option tax to I lleschutes 9-ia fund emergency communications services.That levy expires County Service District June 2013.
