Consideration and signature of Resolution #2013-003, transfer of appropriation in the Acute Care
Services Fund.

BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
Consideration of Resolution #2013-003. Due to extenuating circumstances involving an individual
placed on an emergency hold, additional appropriation is required in the Materials & Services category.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
An appropriation transfer from Contingency to Materials & Services for $21,000 is necessary.

A Resolution Transferring Appropriations *
Within the Various Funds of the 2012-2013 RESOLUTION NO. 2013-003

Deschutes County Budget and Directing Entries *
WHEREAS, attached is a document from the Behavioral Health Department requesting a
transfer of appropriations, and
WHEREAS it is necessary to transfer appropriations within the Deschutes County Budget to
accommodate the request; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. That the following transfers of appropriations be made:
FROM: 276-2200-501.97-01 Deschutes County Acute Care Services,
Contingency $ 21,000
TO: 276-2200-444.33-50 Deschutes County Acute Care Services,
Emergency Hold $ 21,000
Section 2. That the Finance Director make the appropriate entries in the Deschutes County
Budget document to show the above appropriations.

Attached please find an appropriation transfer for materials and services related to an emergency hold. In an effort to
avoid admitting an individual to the State Hospital, this client was treated at Lifeways while waiting for a secure
residential treatment facility bed to be available.
This event is unusual and was unknown during the FY 13 budget process.

Deschutes County Health Services -Behavioral Health is requesting appropriation for an emergency hold in Fund 276 -Acute Care.
