BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
The 20131egislative session is scheduled to begin on February 4,2013. Bills to be considered during
the session must be filed by February 21,2013; however, a large number have already been introduced.
Of these, many have been identified by Public Affairs Counsel (PAC), the County's contract lobbying
firm, and/or individual County departments as potentially having some impact or significance to the
County. A list ofthese initial bills has been provided to the Board of County Commissioners for
review. The list includes department recommendations and comments, when provided, regarding the
positions and priorities the Board may wish to assign to each issue. As new bills are introduced and
additional information is received, the list will be updated and the Board will have further opportunities
to establish or revise its legislative positions and priorities as appropriate.

infrastructure. Allows local government that has
