PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? NO BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS: KNCC is the construction manager/general contractor (CMGC) for the jail expansion project. The contract is to be amended to establish a guaranteed maximum price for the expansion work. This will be amendment #1 of2 amendments. The first amendment is for the site work and long-lead items (detention-grade hardware and doors), and the second amendment that will be developed later will be for the jail construction. We are breaking down into two phases so that notice-to-proceed can be given to CMGC to begin site work immediately while awaiting a building permit and bidding for the jail construction phase. As agreed by the Owner and Construction Manager, the Guaranteed Maximum Price is an amount that the Contract Sum shall not exceed.
