TITLE OF AGENDA ITEM:
Consideration and signature of Resolution #2013-110, transferring appropriation in the Public Health
Fund.
PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? NO
BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
Consideration of Resolution #2013-110. In conjunction with the addition of 2.80 FTE for a
maternal/child health program, partially funded by a $134,000 grant, an increase of .15 FTE for a
supervisor position is required. This program optimizes the use of primary care, oral health, behavioral
health, prevention, family support and early learning initiatives.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
A transfer of appropriation from Contingency to Personnel for $14,089 is required.
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval and signature of Resolution #2013-110.

WHEREAS, attached is a request from the Public Health Department requesting a transfer of
appropriations, and
WHEREAS it is necessary to transfer appropriations within the Deschutes County Budget to
accommodate the request; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES

Deschutes County Health Services -Public Health has been awarded a 1 year grant for the time period July 1, 2013
through June 30, 2014 from the Wellness and Education Board of Central Oregon. This grant is to improve prenatal and
early childhood wellness through coordinated care system that empowers low income families and optimizes their use
of primary care, oral health, behavioral health, prevention, family support and early learning initiatives. In order to meet
fidelity with this initiative, we must increase our supervision fte.
