PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? NO BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS: Consideration of Resolution #2014-014. The Personnel category in the Public Health Fund will be increased by $29,420. The Wellness and Education Board of Central Oregon has awarded funds to hire a WIC Certifier (.50 FTE). This position will aid in improving prenatal and early childhood wellness for low income families. This award was not anticipated when the FY 2014 original budget was adopted. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: A transfer of appropriation, for $29,420 from Contingency to the Personnel Category is necessary. In July 2013 , we were awarded a 1 year grant for the time period July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014 from the Wellness and Education Board of Central Oregon. This grant is to improve prenatal and early childhood wellness through a coordinated care system that empowers low income families and optimizes their use of primary care, oral health, behavioral health, prevention, family support and early learning initiatives. This grant includes funding for a WIC Certifier for the time period January 2014 through June 3014. A supplemental budget was submitted on July 1, 2013 representing the increase to revenue and adding a few of the approved fte. As the WIC Certifier was funded for January -June of 2014, this pOSition was not added until now. Teri Please include this fte in FY 15. To date we have additional funding through December 2014 and have been assured it is the intent of Pacific Source to continue this funding though June 2015, details to follow. Jeanine -As noted above, the revenue related to this grant was submitted in a supplemental budget request on July 1, 2013. Judi -this pOSition will be hired no earlier than February 1, 2014.
