TITLE OF AGENDA ITEM:
Consideration and signature of Resolution #2014-016, appropriating a new grant in the Behavioral
Health Fund.
PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? NO
BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
Consideration of Resolution #2014-016. The Behavioral Health Department was awarded additional
grant funding in the amount of$197,398. Revenue from this award will be used to hire a Behavioral
Health Specialist II (1.00 FTE) and a Peer Specialist (1.00 FTE). These positions will administer a
rental assistance grant program aimed at supporting behavioral health clients with rent and move in
costs.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
The County will receive an additional $197,398 from the State of Oregon. This funding will provide
additional resources not included in the FY 2014 Adopted Budget.
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval and signature of Resolution #2014-016.

to the Deschutes County 2013-2014 Budget * RESOLUTION NO. 2014-016

WHEREAS, Deschutes County Behavioral Health Department will receive new State grant
revenue totaling $197,398; and
WHEREAS, these new grant funds need to be appropriated; and
WHEREAS, ORS 294.326(2) allows the appropriation and expenditures of new grant funds
designated to specitic purposes; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON, as tollows:

Deschutes County Behavioral Health was awarded an 18 month Rental Assistance Grant to assist behavioral health
clients with costs associated with supported housing in the 2013-2015 biennium. These funds are to be used to hire 2.0
fte to administer the program and for direct rental assistance and move in costs for clients.
Attached you will find a supplemental budget request adding the 2.0 fte and budgeting materials and services for this
grant in FY 14.
Tom Anderson approved the addition of the fte on 1/16/14
These positions will be filled no earlier than February 1 for health benefits trust purposes.
Teri -please add these fte to FY 15.
