TITLE OF AGENDA ITEM:
Consideration and signature of Resolution #2014-017, appropriating a new grant in the Behavioral
Health Fund.
PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? NO
BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
Consideration of Resolution #2014-017. The Behavioral Health Department was awarded additional
grant funding in the amount of$37,538. Revenue from this award will be used to support the crisis
program by hiring a Behavioral Health Specialist I (1.00 FTE). Resources will also be used for travel
expenses and the purchase of a new computer.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
The County will receive an additional $37,538 from the State of Oregon. This funding will provide
additional resources not included in the FY 2014 Adopted Budget.

Approval and signature of Resolution #2014-017.

A Resolution Appropriating New Grant Funds *
to the Deschutes County 2013-2014 Budget RESOLUTION NO. 2014-017 *

WHEREAS, Deschutes County Behavioral Health Department will receive new State grant
revenue totaling $37,538; and
WHEREAS, these new grant funds need to be appropriated; and
WHEREAS, ORS 294.326(2) allows the appropriation and expenditures of new grant funds
designated to specific purposes; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. That the following grants be budgeted:

Deschutes County Behavioral Health was awarded an 18 month Crisis Grant to assist behavioral health clients by
improving and expanding our crisis program in the 2013-2015 biennium. These funds are to be used to hire 1.0 fte to
administer the program and for travel and the purchase of one computer.
Attached you will find a supplemental budget adding the fte and materials and services budgets.
Tom Anderson approved the addition of the fte on 1/16/14.
These positions will be filled no earlier than February 1 for health benefits trust purposes.
Teri -please add this fte to FY 15.
Please let me know if additoinal information is needed.
