The purpose of this position is to replace an on-call Building Inspector with a full-time Building Inspector II. The current on-call staff has been working full time for Deschutes County since approximately June I, 2013 with a full-time Building Inspector n position. This on-call position was initially created to provide contract building services on behalf of Deschutes County to the City of Sisters for 4-hours per day, 4-days per week per an IGA between the City and County adopted in January 2013. The duration of the contract is 3 years. The significant increase in building-related development activity in the City of Sisters and in unincorporated Deschutes County has caused the Building Division to utilize this on-call staff services on a full time basis. In addition, with expected building inspector retirement(s) over the next 1-2 years, this position will provide a continuity in building services as staff transitions occur. Please let me know if I can provide additional information or answer questions. Thank you.
