TITLE OF AGENDA ITEM:
Consideration and signature of Resolution #2014-022, appropriating a new grant in the Behavioral
Health Fund.

BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS:
Consideration of Resolution #2014-022. The Behavioral Health Department was awarded additional
grant funding in the amount of $154,517. This award will be used to fund three positions: a Behavioral
Health Specialist I (1.00 FTE), a Behavioral Health Specialist II (l.00 FTE) and a Peer Specialist (1.00
FTE). These positions will enhance services for the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
The County will receive an additional $154,517 from the State of Oregon. This funding will provide
additional resources not included in the FY 2014 Adopted Budget.
RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval and signature of Resolution #2014-022.

A Resolution Appropriating New Grant Funds *
to the Deschutes County 2013-2014 Budget RESOLUTION NO. 2014-022 *

WHEREAS, Deschutes County Behavioral Health Department will receive new State grant
revenue totaling $154.517; and
WHEREAS, these new grant funds need to be appropriated; and
WHEREAS, ORS 294.326(2) allows the appropriation and expenditures of new grant funds
designated to specific purposes; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. That the following grants be budgeted:

Deschutes County Behavioral Health was awarded an 18 month Assertive Community Treatment Grant to assist
behavioral health clients by enhancing and expanding our ACT program in the 2013-2015 biennium. These funds are to
be used to hire 3.0 fte to adminster and enchance program services and for materials and services related to the
program.
Attached you will find a supplemental budget request adding fte and increasing our materials and services budget
according to the grant requirements.
Tom Anderson approved the addition of the fte on 1/30/14
These positions will be filled no earlier than March 1 for health benefits trust purposes.
Teri, please add these fte to our FY 15 payroll budget.
