PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? No BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS: Through a Sale Agreement approved by the Board of Commissioners, Deschutes County agreed to sell a 1.04 acre parcel ofland to the Central Oregon Community College (COCC) in Redmond, OR. The property, described as Parcel 2 of Partition Plat 2014-8, was created from a larger 4.39 acre parcel owned by Deschutes County and currently leased to BrightSide Animal Center (formerly Humane Society of Redmond). A copy of the recorded partition plat is attached. Per the Sale Agreement, COCC's purchase contains an existing structure that has been used as an event center to house its Veterinary Technician Program. The partition and sale to COCC of the approximately 1.04 acres will not adversely affect the existing or future operation of the BrightSide program on the remaining parceL The sale price to COCC was negotiated at $300,000.00, less the costs involved in completing the minor partition. The net purchase price after costs associated with the partition will be $258,638.94 ($41,361.06 in partition related expenses). FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: No on-going implications. Deschutes County will net $258,368.94 from the sale of real property.
