PUBLIC HEARING ON THIS DATE? No BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS: Deschutes County and Crook County have mutually benefitted from an Intergovernmental Agreement (lOA) that provides for the ability to share equipment and provide maintenance services to one another. Due to a medical issue, the Crook County Road Department is operating without an active Roadmaster/Road Official. During the interim, the Crook County Court and the Road Department's operational staff are in need of occasional consultation regarding issues including, but not limited to, maintenance work planning, grant projects, and development impact. It is not anticipated that any consultation will require more than a few hours per week of Deschutes County staff time. In the spirit of agency partnership and cooperation, and based on our familiarity with their program, Deschutes County has offered to provide assistance during this interim period. The attached addendum to the existing lOA allows for inclusion of administrative and consultation related duties typically provided by the County Road Official or Roadmaster. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: The addendum will allow for payment of services in accordance with the existing terms of the lOA. It is not anticipated that more than a few hours of staff time per week will be requested; this additional time can be accommodated by staff with minimal impact to level of service. RECOMMENDATION AND ACTION REQUESTED: Approval, with suggested motion: "I move to authorize Board signature of Document #2014 281; an addendum to the existing Intergovernmental Agreement with Crook County."
