BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS: I Consideration of Resolution #2014-109. The Public Health Department was awarded an 18 month grant I in the amount of$42,016. Resources from this award will be used to promote high risk drinking
prevention across the region. I

~ FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
The County will receive an additional $42,016. This funding will provide additional resources not
included in the FY 2015 Adopted Budget.

BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON
A Resolution Appropriating New Grant Funds *
to the Deschutes County 2014-2015 Budget RESOLUTION NO. 2014-109 *

WHEREAS, Deschutes County Public Health Department will receive new State grant revenue
totaling $42,016; and
WHEREAS, these new grant funds need to be appropriated; and
WHEREAS, ORS 294.326(2) allows the appropriation and expenditures of new grant funds
designated to specific purposes; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES
COUNTY, OREGON, as follows:
Section 1. That the following grants be budgeted:

Deschutes County Health Services was awarded an 18 month Innovation Prevention Grant, through the Oregon Health
Authority, to support prevention of high risk drinking across the region during the 2013-2015 biennium. These funds
are to be used to promote prevention of high risk drinking through a series of trainings. The .20 Health Educator II will
act as a grant coordinator.
Tom Anderson approved the addition of the fte on 6/25/14.
