NO Has public notice been given? N/ A BACKGROUND AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS: If the Board so wishes, this item could be placed on the consent agenda. ORS 18.992(2)(b )(B) requires owners of foreclosed real prope11ies that are not occupied to provide notice to either local neighborhood association or the designee of the relevant local govenunent of the existence of the vacant property. Deschutes County has not designated the official to receive these notices and banks and others that have foreclosed on real property have submitted the notices to more than one department within the County. This county should designate an official to receive those notices in order to have a central location for all notices. The Community Development Department ("CDD") has the ability to receive those documents, scan them, then save the scanned document with the associated property online. Legal Counsel discussed this matter with the department heads of several departments within the County and Nick Lelack agreed to have the CDD department take on this responsibility. No other action by the county is required by the statute. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: The staff cost of receiving the notices, scaMing them and saving them online RECOMMENDATION & ACTION REQUESTED: MOTION: Move approval Order 2014-013 ATTENDANCE: Laurie Craghead DISTRlBUTION OF DOCUMENT: Copy to Nick Lelack & Treana Henley ~ LEGAL COUNSEL For Recording Stamp Only BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON An Order Designating the Deschutes County * Community Development Director or the * ORDER NO. 2014-013 Director's Designee to Receive the Information * Described in ORS 18.995(2)(b)(B) WHEREAS, in 2013, the Oregon Legislative Assembly adopted what has been codified in ORS 18.995(2)(b )(B) requiring owners of foreclosed property to provide the listed information to the designee of the local government in which the foreclosed property is located in an attempt to assure that property owners will not neglect the maintenance of foreclosed property during the period of vacancy; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners ("Board") desires to designate the Deschutes County Community Development Director ("Director") or the Director's designee within the Community Development Department as the County employee that will receive the notices per the above listed statute; now, therefore, THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DESCHUTES COUNTY, OREGON, HEREBY ORDERS as follows: Section 1.
